E-coat system(ED Coating)

Anti-rust application of modern automobile painting workshop

At Rihting, we have more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing electric ED-coating systems. Our design is particularly suitable for a wide range of coatings, and our construction can be combined with the entire production line.

ED coating has become a common application in modern automotive paint shops. In the ED coating, charged particles from the coating emulsion move to the anode (AED) or cathode (CED) under the action of electricity. The DC current established by the sloppy liquid causes the pigment and resin substrate of the coating to drift toward the surface, and the coating can reach all the recessed areas. Ultrafiltration (UF) equipment for the separation of ED coating components does not form films and recycled coatings. The film deposited after baking hardens to form a durable polymer film.

Like the pretreatment device, ED Coating aims to improve the rust prevention ability, improve the film thickness by electrophoresis and prevent film formation, and form a strong film to enhance the corrosion resistance of the product.

The ED coating undergoes the following four main processes:

  • Pretreatment
  • Electroplating bath and auxiliary equipment
  • Flush after
  • oven

Advantages:

  • Fully automatic operation to control film thickness.
  • Uniform coating
  • Wide coverage of the cabinet and internal surfaces
  • Sharp corner coverage is high
  • Better corrosion resistance
  • Paint utilization is close to 100%.
  • Superior anti-pollution, safety and health hazards.
